The Raw Materials Division at MCA Services produces a wide range of precious metal impregnated carbons. Our most popular materials are the platinum on carbon and graphite series (20V and 20L) and the rhodium on carbon or graphite series (4AV and 4AL). However, these can be extended to other precious metals on demand and the team at MCA are always happy to discuss particular requirements with their clients.              

As many of these materials are produced to order, our clients are guaranteed a product which matches their requirements exactly and which can be tailored to individual specifications. 

All products have been developed to meet the exacting standards of electrochemical, fuel cell and biosensor materials. All materials use high purity carbon bases, are compatible with a range of ink systems and the precious metal loadings can be changed easily, offering exceptional product flexibility. The most common precious metal loadings for these materials are detailed below,  although higher precious metal loadings can also be manufactured;

MCA20V (Platinum on carbon)  1 - 40 % Pt/C (w/w)

MCA20L (Platinum on graphite) 1 - 40 % Pt/C (w/w)

MCA4AV (Rhodium on carbon) 1 - 40 % Rh/C (w/w)

MCA4AL (Rhodium on graphite) 1 - 40 % Rh/C (w/w)

These products can be supplied in commercial quantities. For even greater convenience, MCA services can handle the submission of samples to independent laboratories for assaying the platinum or rhodium content.             

The production team at MCA have enjoyed very good relationships, in utmost confidentiality, with  their clients and have often worked closely to develop specialist materials for individual requirements.
