The Analytical Division of MCA Services is equipped with the latest and most powerful analytical tools for materials characterisation. Amongst the equipment used at MCA, the state-of-the-art Micromeritics TriStar TM 3000 provides for the generation of surface area (in particular BET Surface area) and full gas adsorption isotherms, from which pore volume, pore area and pore size data are generated. Our Micromeritics AutoporeTM 9500 offers the latest technology for mercury porosimetry, pore size distribution and bulk density analyses through mercury pycnometry. Other advanced techniques and equipment provide for laser particle sizing, helium density measurements, determination of very low surface area samples and metal area evaluation. All of our techniques may be combined to suit our client’s specific materials and individual requirements.

The analyses conducted at MCA Services are undertaken according to our highly developed and validated operating procedures, which ensure both accurate and reliable results and the generation of a wealth of information. However, we believe that our clients should get the most out of analyses and we are always happy to accommodate individual requirements to our tests. Furthermore all aspects of our analytical services are operated in accordance with good laboratory practice and the utmost confidentiality is assured.

The results obtained from our analytical tests are generally reported in a standard format, giving a great depth of information yet in an easily understandable and locatable manner. However, the software used at MCA Services is state-of-the-art and our standard reports can be expanded to include additional information pertinent to individual requirements. All results are offered as hard-copy prints, or in pdf or Microsoft Excel format meaning no delays when required urgently. All analytical equipment at MCA Services is regularly checked using approved standard and/or reference materials, ensuring that our clients gain both accurate and reliable results. This makes our analytical tests appropriate for both QC work and fundamental research.
