Analytical Division MCA Services was founded
in 1978 as a laboratory-based consultancy specialising in surface area
and porosimetry measurement by contract analysis.
Our fully equipped laboratories are based some 15 miles from Specialist Materials Division In the late 1980’s, MCA’s expertise in particle technology led to a diversification into the production of biosensor grade materials where ultra-fine particulate material was required. Our initial focus was on a fine grade silver chloride powder specifically designed for screen printable biosensor reference electrodes and this was followed by other fine grade powder such as Pt/Carbon and Ru/Carbon for advanced sensor systems. The product range naturally progressed to the design and supply of specialised biosensor ink systems for application to substrates via screen printing, dip coating etc. MCA’s technology was successful in gaining four DTi SMART awards for innovative biosensor technology in the early years and led to the formulation of MCA’s specialist Materials Division which currently supplies such materials to the world market. Our staff are mindful of commercial sensitivity in this field and are able to assist with advice and supply of speciality biosensor materials on a strictly confidential basis. The staff at MCA Services are professionally qualified and senior staff are members of the Royal Society of Chemistry and hold Chartered Chemist status. Whatever your requirements in the above areas, we would encourage you to contact us for a no-obligation discussion.
MCA Services has, for a number of years, worked in conjunction with a local secondary school with the aim of promoting science in general to school-aged pupils. Swavesey Village College was the first school to be awarded Specialist Science Status and is renowned for having high standards of teaching and facilities. Staff from MCA Services regularly participate in Skills Days, where demonstrations are made which reflect science at work, and the Swavesey Science Challenge, an annual event attended by over 20 secondary schools from the East Anglia region. More information on Swavesey Village College can be found at www.swaveseyvc.co.uk (this link will open a new window).
